The Control Centre is only available to tournament organisers and moderators, though organisers can access a greater array of tools, here. The Control Centre can be accessed from the navigation panel, in your tournament overview. Here, you will be able to see: 1. A summary of matches, per tournament round, including a summary of open disputes (visible to organiser and moderators)
2. The tournament settings page, where organisers alone can: - Cancel a tournament - Reschedule a tournament - Amend the tournament password (or add a new one) - Amend the game level restrictions, that apply to their tournament - Invite another user to moderate the tournament - Amend the tournament rulebook - Add some free text to describe the tournament, to be displayed in the tournament overview.
A tournament organiser is responsible for the creation of a quality tournament, as well as the quality of their participants' gaming experience. This includes the oversight of several components of their tournament including:
Creating the tournament in the Tournament Creation Module (TCM)
Paying for service fees and prize pools (where relevant)
Ensuring suitable moderation and the prompt resolution of disputes
Providing clear tournament guidelines
Supporting gamers with questions about the tournament.
Users can create (and configure) a tournament using the . You can access the TCM via the My Tournaments panel of your Trinity3 dashboard. The TCM itself is composed of five different pages that, sequentially, guide you through:
- Configuration of your tournament game title and key details - Scheduling of your tournament rounds - Rulebook management - Prize pool allocation and management - Tournament confirmation Our handy in-platforms tool tips are designed to guide you through the TCM, and help you overcome any challenges that you might face along the way. Once you've completed our easy five-step process and paid for your prize pool (where applicable), your tournament will be available to view within Trinity3.
Before you can create a tournament, please review our Rules of Engagement.
These are designed to:
Provide information about the workings of the Tournament Creation Module and dispel any misconceptions about its functionality.
Help users decide if they want to take on the challenge being a tournament organiser.
Preserve the integrity of the Trinity platform by clearly explaining the expectations of the tournament organiser role, including organiser oversight of moderation activities.
In agreeing to use the Trinity TCM, you also agree (to the best of your ability) to the following Rules of Engagement:
i) Accountability Any tournaments that are hosted by community organisers are, but for the technical capability of the Trinity product, the responsibility of the organiser to manage. This includes: â
Filling tournaments sufficiently, so as to guarantee a positive gamer experience.
Supporting user questions in the tournament chat.
Supporting all activities pertaining to moderation, even when a separate moderator is assigned, including ensuring that disputes are resolved by moderators by the end of the round, so that players with open disputes are not disqualified from subsequent games for not readying up on time.
(ii) Moderation
So that Trinity remains a safe and enjoyable place to be, moderation of tournaments is required. We therefore ask that rulebooks provided for your tournaments are clear and detailed enough for community use. To get you started, template rulebooks for all game titles will be available via the TCM for you to view and customise. Please note that Trinity3's standard rules will be appended to all custom rulebooks, and cannot be modified or removed by an organiser.
Organisers can moderate matches themselves, or ask a friend to step in and help. For more information and FAQs about tournament moderation, including how to invite other gamers to moderate your tournament, please refer to the Moderating Tournaments page.
If you configured a tournament prize pool within the Tournament Creation Module, pay for your pool and service fee by navigating to your in-app dashboard, and review any tournaments in listed under the 'Organiser' role. Upcoming tournaments with an unpaid prize pool can be found by selecting the appropriate filters. Please note that you will be unable to pay for your prize pool until you have have enough currency in your wallet to satisfy the prize pool and service fee. Your tournament will be hidden from public view until you pay for its prize pool; similarly, you cannot invite other gamers to moderate your tournament until your pool is settled. Note: If you do not pay for a tournament prize pool within 20 minutes of its start time, then your tournament will be automatically cancelled.
Once your tournament is created, you cannot adjust its prize or add a pool. If you want to change the prize allocation of a tournament, after its creation, we recommend that you cancel the existing tournament, and create another with the parameters that you desire.
When you create a tournament with a prize pool, using the Tournament Creation Module, a service fee will need to be paid to deploy your tournament on-chain.
This service fee is fixed and can be reduced by holding specific NFTs or tokens in your wallet.
Service fees are non-refundable in the event that a tournament is cancelled, once it is created and paid for.
There are cases where you may qualify for a full or partial refund, e.g. if you cancel your tournament after paying for its prize pool, or if some of your placed gamers are disqualified (and so forfeit their portion of the prize pool). In these events, you will be refunded the appropriate amount based on the amounts set in the allocation table.
At the end of the tournament, you will see the allocation table before it has been finalised. Here you can adjust what is being sent out to the players and returned to the organizer.
Tournament prize pools are optional and can be set in the TCM during the set-up process. If you decide to include a prize pool, you must pay for this in full before the tournament is live. Before a tournament ends, you will have the ability to finalise the token distribution to allow for any last-minute changes to be made. Whether you include a tournament prize pool or not, a service fee must be paid to deploy the tournament to the blockchain (unless this fee is reduced).
