During Tournaments
What happens when a tournament doesnโt fill?
When tournament matches are less than 25% occupied, they are automatically cancelled, and all players will automatically proceed to the next round. However, participants will need to wait for the round to start, before they can play.
When a tournament is more than 50% occupied, but is not 100% occupied, players with no opponent will automatically advance to the next round, while those players who are randomly matched with am opponent will need to win their spot in the rest of the tournament! Note: If a tournament has less than 25% occupancy at the start time, it will be automatically cancelled. This mechanism ensures the best possible player experience. In the event of cancellation, the allocated prize pool will be refunded, minus the service fee.
What happens after I've joined a tournament?
Once youโve joined a tournament, please set aside time to participate! Solo players and team captains/vice captains will also be reminded to ready up within the first 10 minutes of the first round.
What is the ready up process?
To ready up for a round means to tell your opponent that youโre present in the tournament, and ready to game. Solo players and team captains/vice captains MUST ready up at the start of EVERY round: you can do this in the Lobby page of the tournament. If you do not ready up within the first 10 minutes of a round starting, you will be disqualified, and your opponent will automatically proceed to the next stage of the tournament. Failure to ready up for a round will result in your disqualification from a tournament, and the forfeit of any rewards or XP to date.
How do I invite my opponent to a match?
First of all, deduce the host of a match: this will be decided by your placement on the fixtures. At the same time, the host player will be accompanied by a โhostโ badge in the Lobby page of the tournament. When a round begins and when you and your opponent have both readied up, the match host should search for their opponent within their console, using their opponentโs username. In team tournaments specifically, you should rely on the captain of the hosting team to search for the captain of a rival team. Though we assign hosts to reduce ambiguity, if an opponent host is struggling to find you in-game, we would expect both players to try and proactively find each other! Your round ends at a designated time, according to the tournament schedule. After both players have readied up, the Lobby tab will update accordingly, to prompt each player or team captain/vice captain to submit match scores before the countdown ends
How are scores verified during a tournament?
All solo players or team captains/vice captains on the platform must submit the match scores in the tournament Lobby page, preferably with screenshot evidence, before the match countdown reaches zero. If the results submitted by both players or teams do not point to the same winner, a dispute will automatically be opened. At this point, the assigned tournament moderator will review any evidence provided by gamers and make a final decision as to the winner of the match. You must always submit your scores (even if you lose) - failing to submit your score results will result in your disqualification from the tournament, and the forfeit of any rewards or XP you have earned. If you require assistance during the tournament, please notify the tournament moderator as soon as possible.
How can I get help during a tournament?
Assistance during a tournament can be found by contacting the tournament moderator; though we expect moderators to be available throughout a tournament, you can send them a notification by pressing the โI need a mod!โ button, in the Code Red panel. If immediate assistance is required and you are unable to contact anyone through the platform, you can also open a support ticket within the Trinity3 Discord server, to speak to a member of our wider Guardian team.
Can I leave a tournament Iโve joined?
If you can no longer participate in a tournament, then please forfeit your place. To do this, navigate to the Lobby page of the tournament, and press the 'Forfeit' button. You can forfeit any time before the tournament starts. โ However, we kindly ask that you forfeit as early as possible so that other players have time to take your space. If you forfeit less than one minute before your tournament starts (and after the tournament fixtures are released), you will NOT be able to rejoin the tournament again. โ You can also forfeit a tournament once it has started. If you do this after the first round, you will be eligible to receive all rewards that accumulated, up until the point of leaving!
